ACE – Action in Caerau & Ely is looking to share its success, knowledge and experience, by offering a small flexible fund to local voluntary organisations in the Caerau & Ely area.
ACE is offering this fund to voluntary community projects to create, support, operate and flourish local initiatives.
We aim to allocate funds to two different projects up to £500 each. .
Funds can be used for start-up costs, running costs or one off event costs.
ACE’s heart is about working together in the community; encouraging people to use their skills, and resources, and helping to support opportunities that meet local needs and achieve lasting positive change.
Previous successful groups who have received funding have been:
10th Ely Rainbows – who needed support with learning materials for activities, day trips, costs towards renting hall space, as well as supporting families with subscription fees.
Reflect Community Church – who have a growing number of social activities for community members, such as kids’ parties, bingo, elderly get togethers, as well as fund raising activities such as McMillan Cancer Research. The church needed new and additional tables, as current equipment could not meet the demand of their growing activities. The church has been able to do more for the local community.
Cardiff Imperial Redcoats – a local jazz marching band, who needed funding to upgrade their musical instruments. The band is made up of 20 marching members and a committee, so everyone benefited and improved their chances in competitions.
Ely & Caerau Litter Pickers – who organise regular community litter picks, needed insurance for their work, serving Ely and Caerau areas. The group promote their activities on Twitter and Facebook with ACE, Love Where You Live and Keep Wales Tidy.
Caerau, Ely, Mini & Juniors Rugby – used the funding to purchase individual trophies for every child that represented their community through grass roots rugby, for the season 2021-2022, and Players player, Coaches player and most improved player for ages U9 and upwards. The trophies are a recognition of individual hard work and the vital part everyone played for Caerau, Ely, Mini & Juniors Rugby community.
