After many months of the Dusty Forge being closed to the public, and rethinking our service support to community members, we are now gradually, beginning to re-open the centre. We are starting to use a ‘booking’ approach for people to access the building.
A number of activities and services are beginning, but in a limited capacity. This is to maintain safety and protection of staff, volunteers and community members using the building. Therefore, many of our services and activities will only be accessed by booking or invitation. Sadly, we still are not able to fully open, as we once did before the Covid-19 crisis.
However, we are pleased to say that the following services are taking place:
ACE Training
Individuals and organisations can now book training for the Qualsafe Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and CSCS package – please contact by call 02920003132 or emailing training@aceplace.org.
ACE Training are also offering the following new courses in partnership with Direct 2U Training and Consultancy Ltd:
UKATA Asbestos Awareness.
Qualsafe Manual Handling.
Qualsafe Working at Height.
Qualsafe Emergency First Aid at Work.
Qualsafe Fire Safety Awareness.

Local Food Pantry
The Pantry plan to open for collection only by appointment in September. Members will be contacted on how this will work and maintaining safety. For the moment, deliveries will continue for a smaller group who still need them, during this transition period.

Also, in September, members of Grow Cardiff gardening sessions, and ACE Arts’ facilitated art workshops for small groups are beginning to return. The Community Shop is planning a reopening in October with a system of booking appointments.
