ACE Trustees

Mel Witherden (Chair) is a retired Community Development consultant with 40 years experience in the voluntary sector.  He has worked as an advisor to ACE (and volunteer) since 2012.

Martin Hulland is the Headteacher Designate for Cardiff West Community High School.  He is leading preparations for the creation of the new secondary school in Ely/Caerau.

Marian Dixey lives in Fairwater.  She is involved in local PACT meetings and is on the Timeplace steering group.  She has worked for the NHS for over 30 years.


Carl Meredith grew up in Caerau.  He established his own construction firm and is an experienced carpenter.

Jean O’Keefe lives in Caerau.  She is a church warden at St David’s Church and she sits on the Timeplace steering group.

Barbara Cuddihy lives in Caerau.  She ran a local green grocer’s for 25 years and is a committed volunteer.

Gareth Pierce manages the Ely & Caerau Community Hub, a council facility providing library, housing and other services to people in Ely and Caerau.

Anne O’Regan lives in Caerau.  She volunteers with Age Connects and Families Need Fathers/Both Parents Matter.

Gloria Yates lives in Ely.  She recently retired from leading the local Healthy, Wealthy and Wise project, providing a range of activities and opportunities for older people living in Ely and Caerau.
